The MONOPOLY city project involves the production and marketing of MONOPOLY games with the theme of a chosen city, municipality, county or other region. The graphic design, the fields on the board, the ‘chance’ and ‘community chest ‘ cards and other game components such as banknotes and tokens are personalised. During each edition, we take great care to select partners who are a valuable part of the local community. Local authorities, municipal institutions and organisations, as well as local entrepreneurs are most often involved.
Organise a game launch event
The MONOPOLY board remains a surprise until the day of release. The promotional campaign is decided by the partners involved in the project. However, permanent elements are the ceremonial unveiling of the board, speeches by partners and local activists, and selected attractions for local residents. Each launch is attended by the mascot, Mr MONOPOLY, who initiates the first game of the giant board with the residents. Both the city event and the advertising campaign are supported by media partners. On the day of the official launch, the game appears on the shelves of major retail chains and in online shops.
