The long autumn evenings promise to be quite exciting for the residents of Olsztyn, Gorzów Wielkopolski and Łódź. In just a few months, the inhabitants of these cities will have the opportunity to play a dedicated edition of MONOPOLY! However, before they cross the START box for the first time, the Winning Moves team and the City Offices will create unique board and box designs. The secret was revealed by the Winning Moves team during press conferences dedicated to the MONOPOLY editions of Olsztyn, Gorzów Wielkopolski and Łódź.
MONOPOLY OLSZTYN
The Winning Moves team has once again come to Olsztyn! The first personalised edition of MONOPOLY was created for the University of Warmia and Mazury. There were a few local flavours on the board, but they did not satisfy the appetite of Olsztynians! The Olsztyn edition of MONOPOLY will be dedicated to all residents of the capital of Warmia and Mazury. Although the game board is only just being created, Mayor Piotr Grzymowicz has already announced that the edition will commemorate not only the city’s 670th birthday, but also the icon and symbol of Olsztyn – Nicolaus Copernicus.
“Certainly Nicolaus Copernicus, whose 550th birthday we recently celebrated, will be honoured in the game. The game could include the Castle of the Warmian Chapter, Copernicus’ bench or his astronomical plaque. We want the residents to decide. Information about the vote will appear soon,” said Olsztyn Mayor Piotr Grzymowicz at a press conference.
MONOPOLY GORZÓW WIELKOPOLSKI
All signs point to October becoming the month of MONOPOLY in Gorzów Wielkopolski! The announcement of the premiere of the new edition of the game dedicated to the city was met with great interest from the local media, institutions and, more importantly, the citizens themselves. The official announcement of the Gorzów Wielkopolski edition of MONOPOLY was made by the City Hall during a press conference in March.
“Thanks to the game, we will be able to present Gorzów as an attractive city for spending time and doing business,” said Bartosz Kmita, secretary of Gorzów Wielkopolski.
MONOPOLY ŁÓDŹ
Łódź, an academic, cultural and industrial centre, will finally appear on the MONOPOLY map! The special edition of the game is being designed with the city’s 600th anniversary in mind. The city authorities have been involved in the creation of the edition and will ensure that local flavours are smuggled onto the MONOPOLY board and onto the Chance and community chest cards. Although the final board will not be known to the citizens of Łódź until autumn 2023, they will soon be able to choose one of the board fields themselves. The City Council will announce the details of the vote.
“I am very happy that Łódź joins the elite group of cities that have their own edition of the cult MONOPOLY game. We will let the citizens of Łódź decide which of the places closest to their hearts will be placed on the MONOPOLY board,” says the First Deputy Mayor of Łódź, Adam Pustelnik
